ITT Corporation Assembler - 1st shift in Westminster, South Carolina
Assembles components and parts of various materials to specification following blue prints or work instruction using fixtures and or jigs with the aid of manual and/or power tools; may perform in process tests and completes assemblies to meet expectations around safety and quality working at benches or on shop floor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Performs high complexity non-standard builds requiring specialized techniques or equipment.
May hold a specialized skill in disciplines such as welding or machining.
Generally also qualified on most standard product builds.
Uses technical experience in trouble shooting during development or introduction of new builds.
Positions parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled or following blueprints.
Fastens parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners.
Uses manual or powered hand tools or fixtures to assist in assembly
Responsible for inspecting and checking parts to detect defects or dimensional discrepancies occurring either prior to or during assembly, and report these and other unusual conditions as directed by Department Supervisor.
Records data or completes paperwork.
Notifies supervisor of out of tolerance or quality issues.
May package or prepare finished goods for warehouse.
Keeps work area neat and clean in accordance with 6-S.
Wears all appropriate PPE and complies with safety instructions.
Completes work timely and to quality and safety expectations.
Generally trains other operators on "Standard Products".
May perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Experience:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
Minimum 1 year experience building standard to complex small to large assemblies
Experienced in reading blue prints
Experienced using small powered hand-tools
Able to lift 15 lbs (regularly), 30 lbs (frequently) and up to 75 lbs (occasionally)
