This role offers the unique opportunity to help stand up a completely new facility, grow the SUT business, and participate in activities including setting up the equipment and processes for safe, quality focused manufacturing. This position is an integral part of the successful set up of the new plant for future success.
As a Team Leader, on the operations team, you'll be leading the daily production of up to a 10-person team. Assigning work to team members, dealing with production issues, and training new hires and associates on procedures and standard methodologies. This role is critical in developing a team culture focused on engagement, continuous improvement, and operational execution. Accountable for achieving the goals set for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (including Inventory and Productivity) and continuing to raise the bar and set the standard for world-class manufacturing.
Position Overview:
Maintains and works in a safe, reliable, cost effective manufacturing operation to produce the required product volumes, with full regard for health, safety and partner concerns. Installs, maintains, repairs and troubleshoots all mechanical, hydraulic, electric equipment and instrumentation. Job Functions
Assigning daily work/tasks to associates in your area of responsibility
Ensuring associates fill out all required documentation (scorecards, paperwork, etc.)
Onboarding and training new associates
Consistent voice of quality for cells – including final inspection of goods, and coaching of others to ensure good quality parts are produced
A go-to resource for production questions and issues
Changes over and operates equipment – willing and able to learn all processes to ensure products are made safety and with right first-time quality
Support daily operations at the cell level for the critical daily management metrics:
Safety
Guide and follow regulations and standard methodologies
Prioritize safety daily – ensuring associates can stay safe while performing daily functions
Identify and investigate any unsafe situations – with focus on implementing robust countermeasures to reduce or eliminate the issues
Lead and supervise 5S in the workplace
Quality
Ensure quality is evident in daily work – delivering high quality product that meets all customer and quality specifications
Ensure the team works according to regulatory guidelines, and coaching as vital to ensure we deliver on ISO and other regulatory requirements
Delivery
Compliance with the daily schedule, call out any deviations to the Shift Leader
Own hitting the required output rate – problem solve and raise issues
Inventory
Work according to the First-In First-Out (FIFO) principle
Monitor and follow documented Work-In Process (WIP) levels
Execute transactions as required and follow standard inventory control processes
Productivity
Deliver output as determined by the daily schedule
Participate in problem solving to minimize downtime and improve throughput
Contributes to the continuous improvement (DBS) culture, including:
Identifying waste in process
Participating in and leading kaizen events
Assisting Shift Leaders in the Problem-Solving Process (PSP) to understand gaps in cell performance, investigate causes to understand root cause, and put in robust countermeasures to drive improvements
Supporting Lean Manufacturing initiatives and projects which increase the overall effectiveness of the manufacturing operation
Promote a learning environment
Facilitate cross training of associates to ensure team can be flexible to meet demand
Emphasize employee involvement and empower team to deliver great results
Basic Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED)
Basic math, reading and writing skills
Ability to effectively communicate, understand and follow verbal and written instructions
Proficient digital literacy to access production information as required
Must have experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word specifically)
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of three (3) years of work experience in manufacturing is required
Experience in a cleanroom environment
SAP or other ERP experience (specifically in manufacturing environment)

Bend, lift, sit and/or stand for extended periods of time
Strong verbal and communications skills
Ability to work in a cleanroom environment (100% of the time)

Experience training associates to sophisticated manufacturing processes
