Lockheed Martin Non Destructive Inspection Technician 4 in Greenville, South Carolina
Description: This position is located in Iraq.
Non Destructive Inspection (NDI) Technician: Perform inspections on F-16 aircraft and aircraft components for structural integrity using nondestructive inspection methods and fluid analysis.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS/INFO: Must have strong communications and interpersonal skills. Must read, write and speak English fluently. Regularly required to lift/carry up to 50 pounds, perform repetitive movements, and perform work from ground level to overhead. This position requires frequent standing for long periods, walking, stooping, kneeling, squatting, crawling, and twisting. Perform other duties as assigned by manager.
Environmental/weather conditions can be extreme during different seasons. Site is a secure compound which team members will be confined to. Flexibility, a positive attitude and excellent people skills are a must.
*Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
*SECURITY Clearance REQUIRED. Must have an Interim Secret Security Clearance prior to start date AND must maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
Candidate Must be USAF 7 level or equivalent.
Candidate must have a minimum NDI Level II experience.
Candidate must have at least 4 years experience with NDI maintenance activities to include:
Experience performing fluid analysis.
Ability to detect flaws such as cracks, delamination, voids, processing defects, and heat damage using penetrante, eddy current, magnetic particle, radiographic, optical, and ultrasonic test equipment. Determine metallurgical information of components according to alloy, temper, conductivity, and associated factors.
Inspecting system components and support equipment for structural integrity using nondestructive inspection methods.
Operate, maintain, and inspect nondestructive equipment. Performs operator maintenance and service inspections on shop equipment and tools.
Ability to establish radiation areas and monitor exposure areas for radiographic operations.
