Location: Blythewood, South Carolina - United States ROLE DESCRIPTION: The Production Planner and Scheduler is part of the Blythewood team and reports to the Plant Leader as a salary-exempt position. This operational role manages finished goods, production material inventories and provides least cost supply chain solutions while maximizing customer satisfaction. This role balances manufacturing and sourcing efficiencies with working capital constraints and customer service requirements. The Production Planner and Scheduler’s problem solving process drives production scheduling, inventory deployment, and raw material maximization. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES: Live the OC Safety stand and adhere to all safety responsibilities. Manufacturing – Maintain close alignment with production resources and ensure smooth manufacturing planning and control through finish goods planning and procurement of packaging & direct materials. Inventory Management - optimize inventories to meet OC financial goals and to meet customer demand. Creates and maintains master data in SAP including material master and vendor master, info records etc Create a rolling 3-month Master Production Plan, 2 week detailed production plan and daily monitoring of schedule attainment for designated products. Utilize the production capacity, taking into consideration the sales forecast, historical sales, and new arProduction Plan, including manufacturing lead times. Make delivery commitments on products, based on available to promise inventory including checking uncommitted material and availability of capacity and lead times. Timely reporting of key metrics. Develop robust understanding of operations capabilities, manufacturing lead times, and raw material constraints by production facility to optimize productivity throughputs. Drives alignment between plant departments Manage exceptions based customer order resolution tools in SAP with the goal of meeting customer expectations for order promise date confirmation. Work with cross-functional teams to resolve inventory/supply issues and lead discussions on alternate options. Own master data in SAP that leverages system capabilities to drive relevant and accurate planning assumptions and MRP results. Produce production schedules for cut products that minimize scrap generation and loss. Coordinate with key suppliers, providing projections of usage, changes in requirements and escalations as needed. Participate in multi-functional teams to achieve plant objectives SKILLS AND ABILITIES The employee must possess the following: Strong listening and comprehension skills Excellent communication skills (written and oral) to effectively communicate with people across all levels of the organization Experience with ERP systems, specifically SAP Utilize Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Access, Outlook Demonstrates a strong understanding of the principles of integrated supply chain management Experienced in critical thinking, problem solving through analytics and data, attention to details Experience making high impact decisions in a fast paced environment.
